Glasses Direct

Firstly I want to start by saying this isn’t sponsored in anyway, I just had a fair few messages about Glasses Direct and I was so shocked by how easy it was to order glasses, that I thought I would share all the details in a blog post for anyone who wants to know more or feeling a bit worried it’s going to be a pain in the arse (it really wasn’t at all!) to order specs online.

I’m meant to wear glasses for concentrated work and haven’t really ever got into the habit of wearing them. The last time I had my eyes tested Abbie was around 1 and I had a free eye test voucher for Boots. I went in, had my eye test and then bought 2 frames for around £160 because I felt I HAD to after my eye test. I phoned Kieran after and was like ‘omg what have I done’… we were saving our deposit for our first places and really had no money… he told me to go back and ask for a refund… which I did with the ground swallowing me up!

I first heard about Glasses Direct online and had some vouchers for free eye test at Specsavers… these are really easy to get your hands on as are Boots ones, usually online or if you have a Boots card you may get vouchers through the post from time to time! It is the law that the Optician has to give you your prescription, so I popped along to Specsavers, had my free eye test, then I pretended to be really interested in the frames, trying a few on to see what shapes suited me… the only ones I liked were the designer ones at 100+ a pop! Then I said ‘oh I’m not sure, I can’t make my mind up, I’ll come back another time! Can I have my prescription please? Thankyou Goodbye!’ And that was that.

With Glasses Direct you get a Home Trial where you can have four pairs of frames sent to you for you to try on and see how they look for free, aslong as you return them within 7 days.

I had a good old browse and chose four pairs that I liked the look of ranging from £49-£89.

From top to bottom they are London Retro Piccadilly – colour Sunset, Scout Millie – colour Pink Havana, Scout East – colour Dark Tortoise and London Retro Bromley -colour Tobacco.

I tried them all on, took some selfies and face timed Kieran.

I decided to go for Scout Millie (top right), I loved the shape, the colour and just thought they looked lovely on!

All the glasses go back into the box The came in and they provide you with a returns label so super super easy.

Then I logged into my Glasses Direct online account and added the Glasses I wanted to my basket… I then had to select my Vision type and enter my prescription which was really easy to do.

Once I’d chosen my second pair and lenses and used my welcome discount code in total I paid £68 for two pairs. I ordered them and they arrived in two days but I think this is all dependant on what you order and what your prescription is.

I was given a code for £30 first orders for new customers as their friend referral scheme, so if you want to use it enter Lillie Farrow at the checkout or follow this link.

I am SO pleased with my new glasses and will definitely be using Glasses Direct from now on now I know how simple it is!

Hope this has helped for anyone wondering how it all works!
