Smoked Mackerel Pate

We had a taster night at my Slimming World group this week and a lady called Jill made this for everyone. It was so yummy (so Thankyou Jill if you are reading this!) 

I was inspired to make my own as I thought it would be nice to have something different in the fridge to grab to have with some toast or cut up veg!

I used:

  • 200g of Smoked Mackerel skin and bones removed

  • 200g Quark

  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice

  • Black Pepper to taste

I literally just chucked the lot in my nutri bullet and gave it a whizz up. I had to stop it and stir a couple of times as the mix is quite thick and needs a bit of help!

If you don’t have a nutri bullet or blender you could just finely chop the mackerel and mix it through.

I had mine on some Ryvita with Crudités  and Soup.

For any slimming worlders, smoked mackerel is on average 1.5 Syns per 100g but differs brand to brand. This recipe made around 3 servings so 1 syn a serving isn’t bad at all!
